Boroondara Arts has a range of opportunities for local community groups and artists to present work as part of our programs.
Commission Opportunity at Town Hall Gallery for Another Look exhibition Another Look is a $3,000 commission for up to 6 artists to produce new work inspired by the Town Hall Gallery Collection. These works will feature in our exhibition at the end of the year from 28 October until the 20 December, 2017. There is also an opportunity for the gallery to acquire, through purchase, the works commissioned at the end of the exhibition. Please note that the $3,000 commission fee does not include acquisition. Please view and download the commission brief here.

Community Project Wall
Town Hall Gallery is committed to supporting local artists and community groups via the Community Project Wall. The Community Project Wall is located within Hawthorn Arts Centre, and is the side foyer of the Town Hall Gallery. Spanning close to 30 metres, this is a free exhibition space available to local community groups, local and emerging artists and schools to exhibit a series of two-dimensional works to a wide audience. Exhibitions are selected through an annual application call-out, each exhibition lasts approximately 1 month, there are 12 exhibitions per year.

Melbourne Fringe After a hugely successful inaugural season in 2016, we are seeking expressions of interest from artists across the performing arts spectrum to be a part of our 2017 two-week curated Melbourne Fringe Festival season in The Basement, Hawthorn Arts Centre.
Applications open late February.
Party Art Prize (PARTY) PARTY is an opportunity for two Boroondara artists or creative groups from any discipline to secure $1,500 to present work from one-night to three months at Kew Court House.
Applications open 6 March.
Boroondara Art in Festivals Commission (BART) The Boroondara Art in Festivals commission (BART) provides support for successful applicants to pursue high levels of artistic endeavour by offering one opportunity to secure a commissioning fee of $5,000 and in-kind room hire support, to present work from any creative discipline at (minimum) two Boroondara festivals. Council supports a number of local festivals through its Community Strengthening Grants Program.
Applications open 31 March.
Cultural Facilities Community Access Grants Our venues are full of exciting and accessible spaces that Boroondara-based artists and community members can apply to use free of charge (conditions apply). If you have a creative project, performance season, exhibition, event, workshop or anything else your imagination desires, you may be eligible for in-kind support at Hawthorn Arts Centre or Kew Court House.

Applications open for Triennial Operational Grants 2017-20 Are you part of a local organisation that supports arts and cultural programs, festivals and activities? If so, you may be eligible for funding through the Boroondara Triennial Operational Community Grants 2017-20 to enhance the delivery of your services.
